The address
That is the only channel. We have no phone line, no contact form and no chat widget — partly because a form would mean collecting your data, which this site is built to avoid, and partly because everything useful fits in an email.
What we can answer
Page corrections. A season that has shifted, an approach distance that has changed, a price that no longer matches the operator's own page, a dead link, a ferry that no longer runs. Send the page address and, if you have it, the official source. These are the messages we act on fastest, because they make the atlas better for everyone who reads it next.
Operator and platform updates. If you run a whale-watching company, a new boat, a changed season, a revised guarantee or a corrected founding date is genuinely useful to us. Point us at the page on your own site where it is published — we cite what operators publish, not what they tell us privately.
Photo credits. If you hold rights to an image used here and the credit is wrong, tell us and we will fix or remove it. Every photograph on the site is a freely licensed Wikimedia Commons file, credited on the photo credits page.
Press and research. Questions about how the atlas is built, what the data covers, or how we source facts. The about page answers most of them already.
What we cannot answer
Anything about a booking you have made. We do not take bookings, we do not process payments, and we never see your reservation, your name or your card. Refunds, cancellations, date changes, late arrivals, lost vouchers and no-shows are between you and whoever took your money — the operator, or GetYourGuide.
Whether whales will be there on your date. Nobody can answer that, including the operator. What we can tell you is what the season data and the published sighting rates say, and those are on the place pages.
Personal itinerary planning. We are a small editorial team and cannot build trips. The near me finder, the season calendar and the best places ranking are designed to do that job without us.
Requests to remove or soften a review. Operator files are written from published sources and cite them. If a fact is wrong we will correct it against the source; if it is right, it stays.
Before you write
If your message is about a trip: check your voucher first — the exact dock, the check-in time, the cancellation window and the sighting-guarantee clause are all on it, and they override anything on this site.
If your message is about a fact on a page: the sources we used are listed at the foot of that page, so you can see exactly what we read and where it came from.
Questions people ask
I booked a tour and need to cancel it. Can you help?
No. We never see your booking. Cancel through the platform you booked with — GetYourGuide bookings are managed in your account or through the link in your confirmation email — or contact the operator directly if you booked on their own site.
My tour was canceled because of weather. Who refunds me?
The operator or the platform that took your payment, under the terms shown on your voucher. Weather cancellations are usually rescheduled or refunded in full, but the clause that binds is the one on your booking, not anything written here.
I run a whale-watching company. How do I get listed?
There is no paid listing and no way to buy one. Send your official pages — fleet, season, prices, guarantee, permits — and we will use them when we write or update the region. Reviews are written from published sources, and we do not remove one on request.
How fast do you reply?
Corrections with a source are handled first and usually within a few days. General questions may take longer. Anything that needs an operator's answer is better sent to the operator.
